ixLayer raises US $75M for telehealth diagnostics

Diagnostic health testing startup ixLayer raised $75 million in an oversubscribed Series A round led by General Catalyst. The San Francisco-based company provides a telehealth infrastructure for payors, providers and government partners to scale testing in weeks versus months.

Oishii, a developer of vertical farms for growing artisanal strawberries, raised $50 million in a Series A round led by SPARX Group’s Mirai Creation Fund II. The New York startup plans to use the funds for R&D and to expand to geographies beyond its core audience of Manhattan foodies.

Shares of gaming company Roblox closed at $69.50 in first-day trading, up 54 percent from the initial reference price. The New York Stock Exchange debut marked the first major venture-backed tech direct listing of the year.

Pleasanton, California-based Cowbell Cyber, a provider of cyber insurance, secured $20 million in a Series A round led by Brewer Lane Ventures. The financing comes as more small and medium-sized enterprises look for policies against the growing number of cyberattacks.

Farmland investing platform AcreTrader landed $12 million in a Series A round led by Jump Capital. The Fayetteville, Arkansas-based company enables individuals to purchase shares of farmland online and oversees farm management, reporting and administration.

Apploi, a provider of recruiting, onboarding and credentialing software for hiring nurses and other health professionals, raised $8 million in a round led by Underscore VC. The New York-based company aims to help address critical shortages of nursing staff by speeding up the hiring process.

Aqua Security, a provider of cloud-native security technology, raised $135 million in a Series E round led by ION Crossover Partners at a valuation of $1 billion. In other news, Boston-based application security developer Snyk closed a $300 million Series E at a valuation of $4.7 billion.
